I Have 45 Pounds To Lose…10 Of Which I’d Like To Lose By New Year’s. Is Cardio Enough? How Much Per Day?

For the last week, I’ve been doing at least 60 minutes of cardio (elliptical and treadmill) each day, sometimes doubling that. I’ve also been doing some light weights, low weight, high reps (about 3 reps of 8). Does this sound like a good plan? Any tips on accelerating fat loss? I really need to get into a special dress for New Years so I need to lose at least 10 pounds in the next two weeks. Advise?

NO No No..I’m a older woman I did all that crap. Doesn’t work. Go get a Pilates tape at a video store. If a 50 yr old can do it and lose 30 pds then u can.It was the fastest way and easiest way to lose it.Plus I stopped the sugar, white flour. I ate fish, chicken, veggies, fruits, and wheat bread and noddles.Good luck

Forget the treadmill, double the elliptical time
or increase the level. 3 to 8 reps is not high.
10 to 15 is high. Lighten your weights if need
be. Crunches are superb but do not do sit ups.
If you really want to lose weigt very fast
USE A STEAM ROOM but be careful, keep
hydrated because you can pass out.

I would recommend the South Beach diet–I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks, so if the same happens for you then you could reach your goal. I ran 1 mile 5 days a wek during this time as well, so yes, for me cardio was enough as far as exercise goes.

just make sure you wear a hart rate monitor, and that your heart rate matches your age. that’s the best way to lose weight

  6. sounds good so far just make sure your also eating a good well balanced diet also running is the wonder exercise for weight loss its better to run for 20 minutes then to do eliptical for 60 you dont need to be on a machine that long if you cant run a full 20 do this: walk for 2 minutes, run for 2 until 20 minutes pass and each week step it up example intsead of walking for 2 and running for 2 add a minute to your run and maybe the next week take a minute off your walk until you can run the full 20 but dont over do it 3 days a week is plenty eat sensible meals but dont starve yourself starving yourself only makes your body hold onto that fat and goodluck

try to burn twice as much fat as you eat. Take it day by day

Ethically the only answer is to talk to your doctor to find out what is safe for you to loose and how fast you can safely loose it.

the cardio is great, but do NOT starve yourself. this makes it even harder to lose weight. eliminate empty calories like soda and junk food. also do not eat after 8 pm. try to eat “clean”, ie non processed foods, not a lot of sodium, but you still need fats. Make sure it is good fats like olive oil, not trans fats like sweets. Your exercise plan sounds great. Combine this with some healthy eating tips (watch the breads as well…cut out pastries or doughnuts) and you will fit into your dream dress. Good luck to you! :)

make sure you are at your target heart rate otherwise you can do all the cardio in the world and not expend enough oxygen to be burning any calories, and make sure you are burning more cals than you consume
